Dan, I have found this NOT to be true. I DO NOT use the Mobile App. I checked the box to show I did not want to use the Mobile App. I have been running Quicken 2017 Windows and Quicken 2017 Mac side by side. Microsoft program for mac.

If I do a One Step Update on either version, it puts a copy of the file in the Cloud Accounts. Even disconnecting all of my financial institutions and just having One Step update for quotes results in the same result. In the Windows version, under Edit/Preferences at the bottom where it shows 'Cloud Accounts' in the list I am able to see the data file listed. The same using the Mac version under 'Quicken/Preferences/Connected Services/See all cloud accounts' it will show the file listed. I have deleted this cloud account using both programs so the cloud is empty. Doing another One Step update with copy the working file right back into again. So, either something is wrong or what you are saying is not actually what is happening.
