Office 2016 for Mac was a long time coming, but it brings plenty of new features and better feature parity with the Windows version than ever. Microsoft has done a lot to streamline the experience.
I have been using Office for Mac 2011 and Office for Windows 2010 Pro. Both of these open Excel files exported from Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Any established connections to these ports will be reported by netstat in additional lines. The Foreign Address of 0.0.0.0:0 is shown as these are open listening ports with no connections established. Lync for mac 2011 screen sharing stopped due to server connectivity.
During use of the Office 2016 for Mac Preview, the Excel files exported from Microsoft Dynamics CRM would not open. I reported this issue to the Office developers, with no apparent resolution. I am told by sales support that there is no sort of compatibility pack which may help with this issue. To the developers know why files from Microsoft Dynamics CRM are not recognized?
I am not able to buy Office 2016 for Mac without this feature working. I would be open to trying the Office 365 version first to see if it works yet, if a resolution is reached. If MVPs can get the file to microsoft and get the problem solve that would be nice. I have made a dropbox link with a file created through CRM.
